30' Ian Maatsen (Borussia Dortmund) 1-0
The matchday 34 meeting between Borussia Dortmund and SV Darmstadt 98 at Signal Iduna Park stayed goalless until the 30th minute, when Ian Maatsen put the home side in front. His opener made it 1-0. 38' Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund) 2-0
Only eight minutes after the opener, Marco Reus added a second in the 38th minute to make it 2-0. The goal gave Borussia Dortmund a two-goal cushion before half-time. SV Darmstadt 98 went into the break needing two goals just to draw level.
72' Julian Brandt (Borussia Dortmund) 3-0
With the score still 2-0 deep into the second half, Julian Brandt struck in the 72nd minute to make it 3-0. It was the first goal after the interval and stretched Borussia Dortmund's lead to three. With less than 20 minutes left, the margin left SV Darmstadt 98 with little room for a comeback.
88' Donyell Malen (Borussia Dortmund) 4-0
Donyell Malen made it 4-0 in the 88th minute, which turned out to be the final score. Borussia Dortmund scored twice in each half and kept SV Darmstadt 98 off the scoresheet. Malen's strike was the last goal of the afternoon at Signal Iduna Park.
