The match, goal by goal
3 of the 4 goals came after half-time.
6' Maximilian Beier (TSG Hoffenheim) 0-1
TSG Hoffenheim made the early breakthrough at the Volkswagen Arena on February 4, 2024, as Maximilian Beier put the visitors 0-1 up after just 6 minutes of this Bundesliga Matchday 20 meeting. The lead held until the 58th minute. The game would finish 2-2, so Beier's opener did not lead to an away win.
58' Lovro Majer (VfL Wolfsburg) 1-1
Trailing 0-1 at the break, VfL Wolfsburg finally found a reply in the 58th minute, when Lovro Majer levelled at 1-1. It was the home side's first goal of the afternoon and wiped out the advantage Hoffenheim had carried since the 6th minute. It also marked the start of a busy spell in the second half.
66' Grischa Prömel (TSG Hoffenheim) 1-2
Only eight minutes after being pegged back, TSG Hoffenheim were in front again: Grischa Prömel struck in the 66th minute to make it 1-2. For the visitors it was a swift response to the equaliser. That advantage lasted just four minutes, however, and Prömel's goal did not prove to be the winner.
70' Lovro Majer (VfL Wolfsburg) 2-2
Lovro Majer had the final say in the 70th minute, scoring his second goal of the match to bring VfL Wolfsburg level at 2-2. It came just four minutes after Hoffenheim had restored their lead, meaning the home side recovered from a deficit twice. No further goals followed, and the points were shared.
