17' Martin Terrier (Bayer Leverkusen) 0-1
Matchday 3 of the Bundesliga, played on September 14, 2024, at TSG Hoffenheim's Rhein-Neckar-Arena. It was the visitors who struck first: Martin Terrier scored in the 17th minute to put Bayer Leverkusen ahead 0-1. That opener set the tone for a first half in which Leverkusen would build on their advantage.
30' Victor Boniface (Bayer Leverkusen) 0-2
Thirteen minutes after the opener, Victor Boniface doubled Bayer Leverkusen's lead in the 30th minute, making it 0-2. TSG Hoffenheim would pull one back, but never more than that, so this goal ultimately stood as the winner. Boniface was not finished for the day either.
37' Mërgim Berisha (TSG Hoffenheim) 1-2
Two goals down, TSG Hoffenheim responded before the break. Mërgim Berisha scored in the 37th minute, seven minutes after Leverkusen's second, to cut the deficit to 1-2. The home side went into half-time back within a single goal.
72' Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen) 1-3
With the margin still at one goal deep into the second half, Florian Wirtz scored Bayer Leverkusen's third in the 72nd minute. At 1-3, the two-goal cushion that Berisha's strike had erased was restored. For TSG Hoffenheim, it put a comeback firmly out of reach.
75' Victor Boniface (Bayer Leverkusen) 1-4
Just three minutes after Wirtz's goal, Victor Boniface struck again in the 75th minute, his second of the match, to make it 1-4. The quick succession of goals stretched Bayer Leverkusen's lead to three. The score held to the final whistle, sealing a 1-4 away win.
