The match, goal by goal
1 of the 3 goals came after half-time. TSG Hoffenheim came from 1 down to win.
6' Jarell Quansah (Bayer Leverkusen) 1-0
Bayer Leverkusen opened their Bundesliga campaign at the BayArena on 2025-08-23 with an early lead. Jarell Quansah struck in the 6th minute to make it 1-0 against TSG Hoffenheim on Matchday 1. The advantage held only until the 25th minute, however, and Quansah's goal proved to be Leverkusen's only one in a 1-2 defeat.
25' Fisnik Asllani (TSG Hoffenheim) 1-1
Trailing since the 6th minute, TSG Hoffenheim drew level in the 25th through Fisnik Asllani, making it 1-1. The away side had conceded early on the opening matchday but restored parity well before half-time. Asllani's equaliser set the stage for the comeback that followed after the break.
52' Tim Lemperle (TSG Hoffenheim) 1-2
Seven minutes into the second half, Tim Lemperle put TSG Hoffenheim ahead for the first time, turning 1-1 into 1-2 in the 52nd minute. The away side never relinquished that lead, so Lemperle's strike stood as the winner. Hoffenheim began their Bundesliga season with a come-from-behind victory at the BayArena.
