The match, goal by goal
4 of the 4 goals came after half-time.
66' Jonathan Burkardt (Eintracht Frankfurt) 1-0
Eintracht Frankfurt and 1. FC Köln went into the break at 0-0, and the deadlock lasted until the 66th minute, when Jonathan Burkardt gave the home side a 1-0 lead. That opener set off a spell in which four goals were scored over the remainder of the match.
69' Arnaud Kalimuendo (Eintracht Frankfurt) 2-0
Only three minutes after Burkardt's opener, Arnaud Kalimuendo doubled Eintracht Frankfurt's advantage in the 69th minute to make it 2-0. A two-goal cushion at home appeared to put the hosts in control. It would turn out to be a lead they could not hold.
70' Jakub Kamiński (1. FC Köln) 2-1
Trailing by two, 1. FC Köln responded just one minute after Kalimuendo's goal, as Jakub Kamiński scored in the 70th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1. The visitors' immediate reply meant Frankfurt's two-goal margin lasted barely a minute, and the match was once again a one-goal contest.
83' Alessio Castro-Montes (1. FC Köln) 2-2
In the 83rd minute, Alessio Castro-Montes struck to bring 1. FC Köln level at 2-2. Having been two goals down, the visitors had now erased the entire deficit. It proved to be the final goal of the match, leaving Eintracht Frankfurt to settle for a draw at home after holding a two-goal lead.
