3 of the 4 goals came after half-time.
39' Mario Pašalić (Atalanta) 1-0
Atalanta hosted AS Roma at the Gewiss Stadium in Serie A's 31st round, and the deadlock lasted until the 39th minute, when Mario Pašalić put the home side ahead. The opener gave Atalanta a 1-0 lead going into the break. Atalanta never surrendered that advantage on the way to a 3-1 win, making Pašalić's strike the decisive goal.
74' Rafael Tolói (Atalanta) 2-0
With the score still 1-0 deep into the second half, Rafael Tolói doubled Atalanta's lead in the 74th minute. His goal made it 2-0 and gave the home side a two-goal cushion. With time running short, AS Roma now faced a much steeper climb.
83' Lorenzo Pellegrini (AS Roma) 2-1
Trailing 2-0, AS Roma pulled one back in the 83rd minute through Lorenzo Pellegrini. The goal cut the deficit to 2-1 and gave the visitors a late foothold in the match. It would be AS Roma's only goal of the night.
84' Teun Koopmeiners (Atalanta) 3-1
Only a minute after AS Roma had made it 2-1, Teun Koopmeiners restored Atalanta's two-goal lead in the 84th minute. His goal made it 3-1 and quickly ended the visitors' hopes of a comeback. No further goals followed, and Atalanta closed out a 3-1 home win.
