The match, goal by goal
3 of the 5 goals came after half-time. Inter came from 1 down to win.
25' Ademola Lookman (Atalanta) 1-0
Ademola Lookman broke the deadlock in the 25th minute, putting Atalanta 1-0 up against Inter at home on Matchday 15 of the Serie A season, played on November 13, 2022. The opener gave the hosts an early edge, but it did not last until the break. Atalanta would ultimately fall 2-3, with this goal remaining the high point of their afternoon.
36' Edin Džeko (Inter) 1-1
Trailing away from home, Inter drew level in the 36th minute through Edin Džeko, making it 1-1. The equalizer came 11 minutes after Lookman's opener and reset the match before half-time. It was the first of two goals Džeko would score on the day.
56' Edin Džeko (Inter) 1-2
In the 56th minute, Edin Džeko struck again to put Inter 1-2 ahead, completing the turnaround for the visitors. It was his second goal of the match and the first time Inter had led after falling behind early. Inter never relinquished the lead from that point, making this the winning goal in a 2-3 victory.
61' Own goal (Inter) 1-3
Just five minutes after Džeko's go-ahead goal, an own goal in the 61st minute was credited to Inter, extending the score to 1-3. The visitors now held a two-goal cushion away from home. That margin would prove important, as Atalanta pulled one back later but could get no closer.
77' José Luis Palomino (Atalanta) 2-3
Two goals down at 1-3, Atalanta responded in the 77th minute when José Luis Palomino scored to make it 2-3. The goal came 16 minutes after Inter's third and brought the hosts back within one. It was as close as they would get, however, and the match ended 2-3, a defeat for Atalanta after having taken the lead.
