25' Daniele Verde (Spezia) 0-1
Spezia struck first on the road at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on 11 February 2023, in Serie A matchday 22. Daniele Verde opened the scoring in the 25th minute to make it 0-1. It was the first of two goals for Verde on the day, with the second coming just six minutes later.
31' Daniele Verde (Spezia) 0-2
Only six minutes after the opener, Verde struck again in the 31st minute to double Spezia's lead to 0-2. The brace gave the visitors a two-goal cushion before half-time. That advantage would not survive, however, as the match ended 2-2.
71' Nicolò Cambiaghi (Empoli) 1-2
Empoli finally got on the board in the 71st minute, when Nicolò Cambiaghi pulled one back to make it 1-2. The goal halved the deficit for the home side and put the result back in doubt. It set the stage for the late equaliser that followed.
90'+4 Emanuel Vignato (Empoli) 2-2
Trailing 1-2 deep into stoppage time, Empoli found the equaliser in the 90+4th minute through Emanuel Vignato to make it 2-2. Having been two goals down in the first half, the home side came back to take a point. For Spezia, it meant a two-goal lead slipping away at the very end.
