Inter struck first at San Siro on matchday 8 of Serie A on October 1, 2022, as Federico Dimarco scored in the 30th minute to make it 1-0. 75' Chris Smalling (AS Roma) 1-2
With the score still 1-1 in the second half, Chris Smalling put AS Roma in front for the first time in the 75th minute, making it 1-2. Inter could not find a response. Smalling's goal stood as the winner, completing the visitors' comeback at San Siro.
