The match, goal by goal
1 of the 2 goals came after half-time. 1 goal in second-half stoppage time.
34' Alessandro Zanoli (Sampdoria) 1-0
Alessandro Zanoli broke the deadlock in the 34th minute as Sampdoria hosted Empoli on Matchday 35 of Serie A. His goal made it 1-0 to the home side, who carried that lead into the break. Sampdoria held on to the advantage for most of the second half, but an equalizer deep into the match meant the goal ultimately did not deliver the win.
90'+3 Roberto Piccoli (Empoli) 1-1
Trailing 1-0 since the 34th minute, Empoli found their equalizer in stoppage time when Roberto Piccoli scored in the 90+3rd minute. The goal levelled the match at 1-1 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris and proved to be the final act of the game. For the visitors it rescued a point on the road, while Sampdoria saw a lead they had held for most of the afternoon slip away at the very end.
