17' Olivier Giroud (AC Milan) 0-1
AC Milan struck first in this Serie A Matchday 23 meeting at Stadio Benito Stirpe on February 3, 2024. Olivier Giroud put the visitors 0-1 up in the 17th minute, giving them an early first-half lead over Frosinone. It was the opening goal of a five-goal game that would finish 2-3.
24' Matías Soulé (Frosinone) 1-1
Frosinone needed only seven minutes to respond. Matías Soulé levelled the score at 1-1 in the 24th minute, wiping out AC Milan's early advantage for the home side. With the equaliser coming before the break, the contest was effectively reset heading into the second half.
65' Luca Mazzitelli (Frosinone) 2-1
With the score still 1-1 after the break, Luca Mazzitelli turned the match around in the 65th minute. His goal made it 2-1 and gave Frosinone, who had fallen behind early, their first lead of the afternoon. The home side would not be able to hold on, however, as the game slipped away from them in the final stages.
72' Matteo Gabbia (AC Milan) 2-2
AC Milan's reply to falling behind came seven minutes later. Matteo Gabbia scored in the 72nd minute to make it 2-2, erasing Frosinone's lead. The match was level once more, with the outcome left to be decided in the closing stretch.
81' Luka Jović (AC Milan) 2-3
The decisive goal arrived in the 81st minute, just nine minutes after the equaliser. Luka Jović put AC Milan back in front at 2-3, and the visitors held that lead to the final whistle. Having trailed 2-1 earlier in the second half, Milan came from behind to take the win at Stadio Benito Stirpe.
