The match, goal by goal
1 of the 2 goals came after half-time.
16' Victor Osimhen (Napoli) 1-0
Napoli hosted Sassuolo at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Matchday 2 of Serie A, and Victor Osimhen broke the deadlock in the 16th minute. His first-half opener put the home side 1-0 up early on. Napoli never surrendered that lead, going on to win 2-0, which made Osimhen's strike the match-winner.
64' Giovanni Di Lorenzo (Napoli) 2-0
With Napoli still holding a 1-0 lead after the break, Giovanni Di Lorenzo doubled the advantage in the 64th minute. The goal stretched the narrow margin Osimhen's first-half opener had provided to two. There was no further scoring, and Di Lorenzo's goal settled the final score at 2-0.
