The match, goal by goal
2 of the 4 goals came after half-time. 1 goal in second-half stoppage time.
37' Armand Laurienté (Sassuolo) 0-1
With the match still goalless, visitors Sassuolo broke the deadlock in the 37th minute through Armand Laurienté. The goal put Sassuolo 0-1 up at the Stadio Arechi. It was the first of four goals in a game that would finish 2-2.
44' Nedim Bajrami (Sassuolo) 0-2
Only seven minutes after the opener, Nedim Bajrami doubled Sassuolo's advantage in the 44th minute to make it 0-2. The away side went into half-time with a two-goal cushion. That lead, however, would be whittled away after the break.
52' Antonio Candreva (Salernitana) 1-2
Trailing 0-2 at home, Salernitana pulled one back in the 52nd minute through Antonio Candreva. The goal made it 1-2 and gave the hosts a foothold in the second half. It set the stage for the late equalizer that followed.
90'+1 Giulio Maggiore (Salernitana) 2-2
With Salernitana still 1-2 down, Giulio Maggiore equalized in stoppage time, scoring in the 90+1st minute to make it 2-2. The hosts had come back from 0-2 to take a point at home. For Sassuolo, the two-goal lead built in the first half was not enough to secure the win.
