Cagliari took the lead at home against Genoa in Serie A Matchday 28 on March 7, 2025, when Nicolas Viola scored in the 18th minute. The 1-0 advantage held through to half-time. It would not be enough for the win, however, as Genoa drew level after the break.
47' Maxwel Cornet (Genoa) 1-1
Trailing since the first half, Genoa needed only two minutes after the restart to respond. Maxwel Cornet struck in the 47th minute to make it 1-1. No further goals followed, so Cornet's equalizer proved to be the last of the night and earned the visitors a point at Unipol Domus.
