Cagliari broke the deadlock away at Sassuolo in Serie A Matchday 31 on April 4, 2026, when Sebastiano Esposito struck in the 30th minute. The goal made it 0-1 and gave the visitors a lead they carried into half-time. It would not be enough, however, as Sassuolo came from behind after the break to win 2-1.
50' Ulisses Garcia (Sassuolo) 1-1
Trailing 0-1 at the interval, Sassuolo drew level five minutes into the second half through Ulisses Garcia. His 50th-minute goal made it 1-1 and erased the advantage Cagliari had held since the 30th minute. For the home side, the equalizer laid the groundwork for the comeback that followed.
