Jesper Karlström opened the scoring in the 16th minute as Udinese hosted Lecce at Stadio Friuli on Matchday 8 of Serie A. His goal made it 1-0, and Udinese never surrendered the lead from that point on. Four more goals followed before the match ended 3-2.

Trailing by two, visitors Lecce pulled one back in the 59th minute through Medon Berisha. His second-half goal cut the deficit to 2-1 and turned the remainder of the match into a one-goal contest.
89' Adam Buksa (Udinese) 3-1
