Barely a minute had been played when Romano Schmid put Frosinone ahead at the New Balance Arena. The visitors led 0-1 before Atalanta had settled into the match. It was the first of the eight goals on a day that would end 4-4.
14' Nikola Krstović (Atalanta) 1-1
Atalanta did not stay behind for long. Nikola Krstović levelled the match at 1-1 in the 14th minute, the first of the hosts' four goals on the day. From that point the scoreline kept turning over.
17' Romano Schmid (Frosinone) 1-2
Three minutes after the equaliser, Schmid's name appeared again. His second of the match, in the 17th minute, made it 1-2 and restored Frosinone's lead. Inside the opening quarter of an hour and a bit, the visitors had gone in front twice.
