1 of the 3 goals came after half-time.
7' Milutin Osmajić (Genoa) 1-0
The opening goal came in the seventh minute. Milutin Osmajić put Genoa ahead at home, breaking the goalless deadlock for 1-0. In this Serie A fixture at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, the hosts had their lead inside the first ten minutes.
15' Junior Messias (Genoa) 2-0
Eight minutes after the opener, Junior Messias doubled the advantage for 2-0. Two goals inside the first quarter of an hour left Fiorentina chasing the game early, and Genoa had built their cushion at home before the match had settled. The quick second strike shaped the rest of the afternoon.
73' Own goal (Fiorentina) 2-1
In the 73rd minute, an own goal credited to Fiorentina made it 2-1. The margin narrowed to a single goal, though it came from the visitors' own net rather than from a strike of their making. Genoa held the remainder of the lead to the final whistle, and the scoreline stayed as it was.
