Three minutes from the end of normal time, Ryoichi Maeda pulled a goal back for FC Tokyo to make it 3-2. The visitors had closed to within one, but there was little time left to find an equaliser. Maeda's goal was the last of the match, and Urawa Red Diamonds saw out the 3-2 win.
