Kitchee SC and Guangzhou FC were still level at 0-0 well into the second half of their AFC Champions League meeting on 3 July 2021 when the home side finally found the breakthrough in the 70th minute. It proved to be the only goal of the match. Kitchee held on to the 1-0 lead through to the final whistle, making the strike the winner.
