Trailing since the 7th minute, Sanfrecce Hiroshima drew level in the 40th through Daiya Matsumoto. His goal made it 1-1 and wiped out an Eastern SC lead that had stood for more than half an hour. It also proved to be the first of two Hiroshima goals in the space of a minute before the break.
