Real Sociedad took the lead at home in the 22nd minute through Ander Barrenetxea, putting them 1-0 up against RC Celta de Vigo on Matchday 2. That advantage held all the way into stoppage time. An equalizer in the 94th minute, however, left the match at 1-1, and Barrenetxea's opener was not enough for the win.
