The match, goal by goal
1 of the 3 goals came after half-time.
21' Stefan de Vrij (Inter) 1-0
Inter's home meeting with Sampdoria at San Siro on matchday 12 of Serie A was opened up in the 21st minute, when Stefan de Vrij broke the deadlock to make it 1-0. It was the first goal of the afternoon and set the tone for what followed. Inter never surrendered that advantage, so de Vrij's strike ultimately stood as the winning goal.
44' Nicolò Barella (Inter) 2-0
With Inter leading 1-0 and the first half almost over, Nicolò Barella scored in the 44th minute to double the advantage. The timing meant the hosts went into the break 2-0 up. For Sampdoria, it left a two-goal deficit to overturn in the second half.
73' Joaquín Correa (Inter) 3-0
Joaquín Correa added a third for Inter in the 73rd minute, extending the lead from 2-0 to 3-0. The goal effectively settled the contest midway through the second half. Sampdoria failed to score at any point, and Inter closed out a 3-0 home win with a clean sheet.
